Zur Funktion des β3-Adrenozeptors am Herzen: Signaltransduktion, inotroper Effekt und therapeutischer Ausblick

Abstract: Beta-adrenergic stimulation is an important regulatory mechanism of cardiac function. Next to beta1- and beta2-adrenoceptors, the expression of a third beta-adrenoceptor population, the beta3-adrenoceptor, has recently been evidenced in the human heart. Stimulation of cardiac beta3-adrenoceptors leads to a decrease in contractility via a release of nitric oxide (NO). In this context, different molecular mechanisms of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activation have been uncovered to occur as a conseque… Show more

“…An imbalance of subnormal cardiac parasympathetic regulation coupled with elevated cardiac sympathetic activation is involved in many cardiovascular diseases including AF, while enhanced cardiac parasympathetic regulation is associated with restoration of β-AR balance and protection of AF induced by acute myocardial ischemia [7]. It has been recognized that at least three different adrenoceptor subtypes, β 1 -, β 2 -and β 3 -adrenoceptors (β-ARs), participated in the regulation of cardiac function and electrical activity [8][9][10]. β 3 -AR differs from β 1 -and β 2 -AR subtypes in its molecular structure and pharmacological functions [11].…”
