“…It can be recognized by the incidence We have tried to clarify the development of a daily rhythm of electrical skin resistance [16,17,18]. We used a measuring procedure which was proposed by Rutenfranz [19], by which the electrical skin resistance was measured against a direct current of two volt intensity. Seventy children were checked during daytime and nighttime every two hours for 350 days.…”

“…This can be better observed during the age of four up to seven with two peaks, one at seven A.M. and one at three P.M. An increase of intensity of the low night values is found especially at the age of seven to fourteen years. In addition, Rutenfranz [19] showed that in the adult a daily rhythmic diagram of skin resistance can be observed with two daytime peaks, one at nine A.M., the other at seven P.M., a noon low value at about one P.M., and a night low between eleven and seven A.M. The progressing fall of the values during the night as already described in connection with other functions can also be recognized during the course of the development of diurnal changes of the electrical skin resistance, if one considers the time at which the daily mean value is exceeded by the morning increase.…”
