Zum Gebrauch der Modalpartikel denn in Fragesätzen. Eine korpusbasierte Untersuchung

Abstract: Denn ist das Alpha und das Omega Denn am Anfang Denn ich habe Hunger Denn ich habe Angst Denn ich bin da Denn ich will leben Denn ich liebe Denn in der Mitte fragt: "Wie lange denn noch?" Denn in der Mitte fragt: "Wozu denn das alles?" Denn am Ende wird nicht einmal sagen "So stirb denn" (Erich Fried) Das zur Einführung in das Thema zitierte Gedicht zeigt bereits die wesentlichen Funktionen von denn: denn tritt auf als Konjunktion, als Modalpartikel und als (meist temporales) Adverb. 1
