I n h a l t s u b e r s i c h t . Die Hauptpolarisierbarkeiten eines nematischen fliissigen Kristalls werden ausgehend von Doppelbrechungs-und NMR-Daten nach den Methoden von VUKS und NEUaEBAUER berechnet. Der Ordnungsgrad wird aul3erdem nach einem von HALLER vorgeschlagenen optischen Extrapolationsverfahren bestimmt . On Some Problems of Optical Anisotropy of Nematic Liquids CrystalsA b s t r a c t . The principal polarizabilities of a nematic liquid crystal are calculated from birefringence and n.m.r. data using the VUKS formula and theNEUaEBAUER relation. Further, an extrapolation procedure suggested by HALLER is used for the optical determination of the order parameter.
