Zr-Induced Thermostable Polymeric Nanospheres with Double-Cross-Linked Architectures for Oil Recovery

Abstract: For the purpose of ameliorating the temperature resistance of nanopolymer particles, a kind of hyper-crosslinked polymer, named Zr-AM/NVP/AMPS [main monomer acrylamide (AM), functional monomers N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP), and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS)] with size varying from 100 to 170 nm and special doublecross-linked architectures, were prepared through inverse emulsion copolymerization of organic cross-linking agent N, Nmethylene bis acrylamide (MBA), and metal cross-linking agent zirco… Show more

“…Notably, hydrophobic association polymers have been tested in the Bohai oilfield. Moreover, the intermolecular interactions used to form supramolecular structure oil repellent systems consist of intermolecular complexation, chelation 44 and intermolecular encapsulation 45,46 (e.g., cyclodextrins with different alkyl species), and the research in this field has been mostly at the stage of conceptual modeling and interior research.…”

“…Although the composite system formed by polymer and organometallic cross-linking agent has the advantages of good temperature resistance and shear resistance, and long crosslinking time, but the cross-linked polymer has a great influence on the treatment of produced fluid. [3][4][5][6] Dynamic covalent bond is a reversible covalent bond. Its bond energy is lower than that of stable covalent bond, but is higher than that of non-covalent bond.…”

“…Organometallic cross‐linking agent is widely used for the second method, and the coordination bond between it and polymer could be formed. Although the composite system formed by polymer and organometallic cross‐linking agent has the advantages of good temperature resistance and shear resistance, and long cross‐linking time, but the cross‐linked polymer has a great influence on the treatment of produced fluid [3–6] …”
