Se evaluaron las características fisicoquímicas (TDS, EC, salinidad y temperatura) de la Laguna de Ñahuimpuquio del Departamento de Junín en Perú. Se realizó el monitoreo en el segundo semestre del 2021: 2 meses del período seco (agosto y septiembre) y 2 meses del período lluvioso (octubre y noviembre), en 5 puntos claves dentro de la laguna; punto 1: Zona de embarcadero; punto 2: Manantial natural “Puquio” que alimenta a la laguna; punto 3: zona de recreos turísticos y venta de alimentos; punto 4: zona de desembocadura de la laguna; y el punto 5: centro de la laguna de Ñahuimpuquio. Los resultados muestran que el total de sólidos disueltos según la norma NPDWR de USA, ubica el agua de la Laguna de Ñahuimpuquio en un nivel de calidad aceptable para suministro de red, y calidad aceptable para agua purificada de garrafón y/o agua embotellada. La salinidad en la laguna oscila entre 297,2 – 312,2 μS/cm; se considera dentro de los parámetros de Digesa (700 – 1200 μS/cm), lo que indica que la laguna tiene baja toxicidad de iones. La conductividad eléctrica del agua de la laguna muestra valores entre (282 – 303,6 de CE), clasificándose como “Buena”. En cuanto a la temperatura, los resultados muestran unos valores desde (18,52 °C – 24.66 °C). Finalmente se demostró que existen correlaciones significativas entre el turismo de la laguna y el incremento de la temperatura, coductividad eléctrica y el total de sólidos disueltos; mas no existe relación con la salinidad en la laguna de Ñahuimpuquio - Ahuac.

This report was prepared in response to a request from the Vietnamese government, notably that of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Its aim is to provide information on the carbon market in general, but also specifically as it relates to forestry, with a focus on blue carbon. This information is intended to support the government to design and implement high quality blue carbon policies, projects and credits. The report assesses the potential of a blue carbon market in Vietnam, including assessing emissions/carbon accounting for mangroves, peatlands, wetlands, seagrass and tidal marshes. It analyses the existing legal framework, as well as opportunities and challenges for the general carbon market and blue carbon in Vietnam, providing recommendations for how Vietnam should move forward with this market.Our report shows that Vietnam has strongly committed to implementing a 'net zero' emission goal by 2050. Forestry and blue carbon ecosystems in Vietnam play an important role in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, maintaining ecosystem services, and mitigating the impacts of climate change, particularly in coastal areas. Recent government policies on the domestic carbon market open up opportunities to create additional sources of finance for forestry, through mechanisms for exchanging and trading emissions reduction results and carbon credits. However, a number of obstacles currently impede the effective design and implementation of a blue carbon market in Vietnam, including: a lack of clear emission quotas for diverse sectors; a lack of oversight of how to include forest carbon and blue carbon activities in the legal framework; insufficient clarity on who owns carbon rights; and weak capacity to implement blue carbon projects. As well as improving the legal framework, it is also critical to improve blue ecosystem inventories. Currently, the Vietnamese government only pays attention to mangrove areas; the forest inventory system overlooks the high potential of seagrass and tidal marsh areas. Improving these national database and monitoring systems could generate additional benefits from a blue carbon market, while promoting biodiversity conservation and improving local livelihoods. The potential for a blue carbon market in Vietnammarshes, mangroves and seagrasses, as described in the IPCC Wetland Guideline (Table 1).

The prokaryotic community in sediment plays an important role in the nutrient cycles of lagoon ecosystems. However, the diversity of microbiota in sediments of Vietnamese lagoons has not been discovered. In this study, sediment samples from three lagoons in Central Vietnam were collected. The microbial community structure in the sediments was determined using Illumina sequencing of 16S rRNA at V3V4 regions. Mother software was used to analyze the data and identify the Operational Taxonomic Units (OTUs). Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Campilobacterota, and Bacteroidetes were the major phyla in three lagoons, while Fusobacteria, Verrucomicrobia, Acidobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Chloroflexi were the minor. These groups of bacteria have been reported to be involved in organic metabolism cycles in sediments. Tam Giang lagoon showed more diversity in species composition when compared with Nai and Thi Nai lagoons. Class Clostridia were predominant in Tam Giang sediment (46%), which may indicate the presence of organic sewage in the environment. Thi Nai and Nai lagoons witnessed the significant presence of Lactobacilales and Vibrionales. While Vibrionales is an indicator of urban pollution, Lactobacilales and other groups of phylum Actinobacteria were potential materials for the screening of natural antibiotics.
