Zinc, cadmium and mercury

Abstract

This Chapter reviews the literature reported during 2007 on zinc, cadmium and mercury. The synthesis of novel compounds and complexes of these metals is reviewed and new observations and inferences are reported. Research highlights for each of the metals during the year are also given. HighlightsThe first structurally-characterised compound containing a Zn-Zr bond has been reported. 4 Three novel Schiff base cadmium(II) trimeric complexes have been prepared using symmetrical Schiff bases. 31 The first dinuclear mercury complex containing formamidinate ligands has been prepared.
