“…wMelPop is a pathogenic strain of Wolbachia native to Drosophila melanogaster which broadly inhibits DENV (11), CHIKV (11,15), YFV (15), and WNV (12). However, the extreme density of wMelPop has too large of a fitness cost to the mosquito to successfully integrate into the mosquito population (13).
