Zhoushi Qi Ling decoction represses docetaxel resistance and glycolysis of castration-resistant prostate cancer via regulation of SNHG10/miR-1271-5p/TRIM66 axis

Abstract: Docetaxel resistance developed in half of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) patients hinders its long-term clinical application. The current study was designed to investigate the effects of Chinese medicine Zhoushi Qi Ling decoction on the docetaxel resistance of prostate cancer as well as elucidate the underlying molecular mechanism. In our study, Qi Ling significantly decreased viability and colony formation as well as increased apoptosis of docetaxel-resistant (DR) CRPC cells. Qi Ling-treated DR c… Show more

“…Also, studies had indicated that miR-1271-5p enhanced the cisplatin sensitivity of ovarian cancer by inhibiting cell growth and metastasis [25]. Chinese medicine Zhoushi Qi Ling decoction had been confirmed to suppress the docetaxel resistance of prostate cancer via enhancing miR-1271-5p expression [26]. Therefore, miR-1271-5p is also considered as a potential target for promoting chemosensitivity in cancers.…”

“…In castration-resistance prostate cancer, QL significantly decreased viability and increased apoptosis of docetaxel-resistant (DR) CRPC cells. The treatment inhibited docetaxel resistance and glycolysis of CRPC possibly via SNHG10/miR-12715p/ TRIM66 pathway ( Cao et al, 2021 ). Feng et al (2021) highlighted the anti-tumor properties of QL in CRPC and unraveled the critical contribution of TRIM66/HP1γ/AR in this scenario.…”

“…OA blocks glycolysis in gastric cancer cells by reducing the HK2 and PFK1 expression and intracellular activity that was mediated by HIF-1α (Li et al, 2019). Isovitexin, a flavone that was found in an A. annua tea infusion, inhibits cell proliferation and glucose metabolism by downregulation of expression of PKM2 to enhance the antitumor activity of cisplatin against lung cancer cells and improves cisplatin-induced immunotoxicity in mice (Chen R. L. et al, 2021). Green tea behaves as an anti-oxidant and shows anti-tumor effects.…”

Oviductus ranae, the dried oviduct of mature female Rana dybowskii, is a famous traditional animal-based medicine, which inhibits the growth, metastasis and glycolysis of hepatocellular carcinoma cells by targeting miR-491-5p/ PKM2 axis (Xu et al, 2018).…”
