Zero voltage switching interleaved coupled inductor synchronous buck converter operating at boundary condition

Abstract: A zero voltage switching interleaved coupled inductor synchronous buck converter operating at discontinuous conduction mode (DCM)/continuous conduction mode (CCM) boundary condition is presented for step-down applications. To increase the duty cycle, coupled inductor structure with lossless clamp circuit is used. Moreover, operating at DCM/ CCM boundary has increased the efficiency by reducing the switching losses. However, this approach results in high output current ripple. To further reduce the input and ou… Show more

“…It operates below 50% duty cycle and the voltage stress of the semiconductor devices is equal to the input voltage. At boundary conditions, a coupled inductor-based synchronous IBC is presented in [13]. The converter achieves a high step-down conversion ratio by using the turns ratio of the coupled inductor.…”

“…A variety of methodologies have been proposed and applied to control different operating modes of power converter systems (PCSs), which mainly include bifurcation mapping [16][17][18][19] and small signal analysis [20][21][22]. Bifurcation mapping establishes an average model to map the corresponding parameters, which is inaccurate due to the lack of accuracy in approximating the practical model and very difficult or not possible to map a system with a large number of state variables.…”
