“…Azo-dyes 121 – 123 (Chart ) were exposed to a 532 nm CW laser for the determination of η 2 (comprised between −0.54 and −1.09 × 10 –8 cm 2 /W) and of χ (3) (comprised between −2.15 and −4.35 × 10 –7 esu) . Dye 124 , also named acid blue 29, was investigated, in different solvents, using a CW He–Ne laser beam at 632.8 nm wavelength and 35 mW of output power. The experiments showed that the OL effect of the solutions of dye 124 (Chart ) becomes stronger for the samples with high polarity solvents, methanol or ethanol being the best solvents. The corresponding limiting thresholds of the solution with different alcoholic solvents were 3 and 4 mW for methanol and ethanol, respectively.…”

“…On the other hand, such high values of the third-order nonlinearity might be within reach of available materials. For instance, values on the order of χ (3) ~ 10 −15 –10 −13 m 2 /V 2 have been measured in organic dye molecules in the visible range 51 52 . Therefore, the use of organic molecules appears a promising route for the experimental observation of plasmon blockade.…”

“…Alsous et al 25 studied acid blue 29/ethanol solutions, using a CW He-Ne laser at 632.8 nm, and showed that  varies as follows: 10.51×10 -3 , 26.7×10 -3 , and 30.49×10 -3 cm/W at the concentrations 5×10 -5 , 7×10 -5 , and 8×10 -5 M, respectively. Similarly, Mohammed Ali and Palanisamy 26 showed that  value of Basic Green 1 dye at the concentration of 5×10 -5 M (using a CW He-Ne laser at 632.8 nm) was found to be 1.7×10 -3 cm/W.…”
