Fuzzy logic has a great potential for researchers and it has been developed over the last two decades. In animal science, there are limited numbers of studies on fuzzy logic approach. This study was carried out to examine the Fuzzy logic applications for prediction of the egg production data. Egg production records were obtained from the commercial poultry farm in Izmir, Turkey. Egg production traits of brown laying hens at 22 to 40 weeks of age were analyzed with Fuzzy logic system. In this study, Fuzzy logic model was developed for the prediction of egg production values of three classes; top, middle and lower (bottom for the cage effect) production. For this purpose 120 data lines representing 4 inputs consisting of cage, age at sexual maturity (ASM), body weight at sexual maturity (BWSM), body weight at mature age (BW) and 1 output, egg production (EP) that collected daily and individually were used in a Fuzzy logic model. The similarities between predicted and original production records were investigated, the coefficient of determination (R 2) was found as 0.89 which was also shown the prediction's success rate. The probability of egg production at ASM of 168 days, BWSM of 1500 g and BW of 1820 g was found 98.97% while egg production's probability at ASM of 157 days, BWSM of 1720 g and BW of 1940 g was determined as 97.97%. These results were also concluded that layers reached at sexual maturity later have lower egg production. The results illustrated that Fuzzy model could provide an effective and accurate prediction for classifying egg production of laying hens. However, since the applications of fuzzy logic related to the prediction of egg production are limited, this work will be pioneered by future studies.

The optimum tilt angle for a photovoltaic (PV) system depends on the row spacing because it affects the amount of shading on the panels. This study modeled PV systems for four different panel row spacings of 2 m, 2.5 m, 3 m, and 4 m in a fixed 3000 m² area in Konya province, Turkey. For different panel row spacings, the system performances were compared using a constant tilt angle of 35°, expressed as a proper angle for PV installations at the considered location. In addition, the optimum tilt angle is found for four different cases in terms of electricity generation. In systems with 35° tilt angles at electricity were produced annually as 622.77 MWh, 566.49 MWh, 495.36 MWh, and 385.72 MWh, respectively, for panel row spacings of 2 m, 2.5 m, 3 m, and 4 m. In addition, these electricity productions are 6.19%, 4.41%, 2.56%, and 0.92% higher with optimum tilt angles as 1°, 15°, 21° and 27°. Similarly, the Performance Ratio (PR) values obtained with the optimum angles are 20.61%, 8.39%, 4.12%, and 1.44%, higher than the fixed tilt angle cases. According to the economic analysis, systems with a fixed tilt angle for these panel row spacings pay back themselves in 5.13, 4.67, 4.44, and 4.28 years, respectively, while systems at optimum angles pay back themselves in a shorter time by 5.83%, 4.26%, 2.49%, and 0.91%. Furthermore, the highest NPV/INV, IRR, and ROI values were obtained from the system with 3 m panel row spacing with the optimum tilt angle of 21° as 0.915, 20.42%, and 91.57%, respectively, which is techno economically found to be the most feasible case.

Bu çalışmada, V tipi emici plaka yüzey geometrisine sahip çift geçişli havalı bir güneş kolektörü tasarlanarak imal edilmiş ve kolektörün performansı Osmaniye ili iklim koşullarında deneysel olarak incelenmiştir. Deney düzeneğinde sıcaklık, nem, ışınım ve hava hızı gibi farklı parametreler ölçülmüş ve elde edilen veriler kullanılarak termodinamiğin birinci yasasına göre kolektörün enerji analizi yapılmıştır. Çalışmada ayrıca deneysel olarak elde edilen kolektör çıkış sıcaklığı, üç farklı Yapay Sinir Ağı modeli kullanılarak tahmin edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda kolektör giriş ve çıkış sıcaklığı arasında maksimum 36,07°C'lik bir fark olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Isıl verim deney süresince maksimum %71,42 değerine ulaşmış ve ortalama ısıl verim ise %56,21 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çıkış sıcaklığının tahminlenmesi için oluşturulan her üç model (YSA-1,2,3) için de yakınsamanın çok iyi olduğu fakat LevenbergMarquardt eğitim algoritmasının kullanıldığı YSA-1 modelinin diğer modellere göre deneysel sonuçların tahmininde daha etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tahminlenen kolektör çıkış sıcaklığı değerleri kullanılarak hesaplanan kolektör ısıl verimi, deneysel verilerle hesaplanan ısıl verim ile uyum içerisindedir.
