Yuri Yu. Sokolov is 60 years old!

Abstract

Yuri Sokolov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, member of the editorial board of the «Russian Journal of Pediatric Surgery», turns 60 on May 27. The main area of his scientific research is minimally invasive surgery of malformations of the thoracic and abdominal organs in children. Yuri Yurievich Sokolov has conducted field workshops on pediatric endosurgery more than 50 times in cities of Russia and neighboring countries. In 2005, he was the first in Russia to perform laparoscopic extirpation of a common bile duct cyst in a child, and in 2021 – a robot-assisted extirpation.
