Young healthy adults with a family history of hypertension have increased microvascular reactivity but decreased macrovascular function

Abstract: Young healthy adults with a positive family history of hypertension (+FHH) have approximately double the risk of developing hypertension than adults without a family history of hypertension (−FHH) suggesting a genetic predisposition for hypertension development. 1 Similar to hypertensive adults, normotensive adults with a +FHH display aberrant responses to various tests of cardiovascular reactivity.
