“Ye Shall Know Them by Their Fruits”: Prosperity and Institutional Religion in Europe and the Americas

Abstract: Low competitiveness is a common denominator of historically Roman Catholic countries. In contrast, historically Protestant countries generally perform better in education, social progress, and competitiveness.
