Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to reveal whether the levels of creative selfefficacy and design self-efficacy of pre-service pre-school and classroom teachers differ significantly according to their musical behaviors or personal variables. Two hundred seventy-three pre-service teachers studying in the third and fourth grades of pre-school and classroom teaching programs participated in the study (n=273). An instrument consisting of a personal information form, musical behaviors questionnaire, Creative Self-Efficacy Scale, and Design Self-Efficacy Scale was used to collect the data. As a result of the analyses, it was revealed that the creative self-efficacy levels of male pre-service teachers were significantly higher than female pre-service teachers. It was determined that the levels of creative self-efficacy did not differ significantly according to other personal variables or musical behaviors. It was also revealed that the design self-efficacy levels of male pre-service teachers were significantly higher compared to female pre-service teachers. Design self-efficacy levels also differed significantly according to the grades and ages of the participants. In addition, it was found that the design self-efficacy levels of the preservice teachers differed significantly according to their belief in using their own voice effectively in education. It was determined that design self-efficacy levels did not differ significantly according to other personal variables or musical behaviors.
