“…This property makes YAG:Ce a suitable yellow-emitting phosphor for the application to white LEDs by combining it with blue LEDs [7][8][9]. Synthesis of YAG:Ce phosphor/nanophosphor have been reported by methods such as conventional solid state reaction [10], hot pressing [11], autocombustion [9,12], co precipitation [13], aerosol processing [4], gel [5] and solvothermal method [14]. Synthesis and properties of YAG:Ce codoped with other rare earth elements like Pr, Eu, Sm and Tb in both bulk and nanoform has been reported [12,[15][16][17] where different synthesis routes such as solid state reaction, combustion and modified polyol process was employed.…”

“…Due to insufficient mixing and low reactivity of raw materials, high reaction temperature above 1500 • C was required to prepare the phase pure YAG:Ce phosphor powders. Therefore, YAG:Ce phosphor powders prepared through conventional solid-state reactions had large size in the order of 5-20 m. To overcome the drawbacks of the conventional solid-state reaction method, liquid solution and gas phase reaction methods such as co-precipitation, sol-gel, solvothermal, combustion, spray pyrolysis have been developed [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]. The flux addition has great influence on the ion diffusions, crystallization process as well as on the formation of YAG matrix with good crystallinity in the solid-state reaction method.…”

“…Matyusheuko et al [17] indicated that it is impossible to prepare GAG powder by the solid-state reaction method. However, in recent years, several wet chemical techniques such as co-precipitation method, sol-gel, combustion, hydrothermal synthesis, solvothermal synthesis, glycothermal method, and spray-pyrolysis synthesis were used to prepare the phosphor precursor at lower temperatures [18][19][20][21][22][23][24]. Although, phosphor materials synthesized by chemical methods have many advantages, i.e.…”
