Abstract

Withania species, from the East Mediterranean to South Asia, may be found worldwide. Withania coagulans and Withania somnifera are two species found in Pakistan 2 . Withania is a flowering plant of the Solanaceae family with roughly 23 species endemic to North Africa, the Middle East and the Canary Islands 3 . In various sections of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Nepal, W. coagulans is prevalent. It may be found in Punjab, Rajasthan, Simla, Kumaun and Garhwal in India 4 .
