XYZ sebagai Bahan Pengganti Teknik Aerasi pada Pengolahan Air Asam Tambang

Abstract. Acid mine drainage (AMD) was an environmental issue that must be managed properly. Treating of AMD with the active method was carried out by adding alkaline materials. The treating stages begin with aeration, neutralization, sedimentation, and filtration. This activity aims to determine the effectiveness of XYZ material in reducing ferrous levels in AMD. Experiments were carried out on AMD samples with a pH of 2.50, a total Fe content of 250 mg/L, Fe 2+ 0.65 mg/L, Mn 10 mg/L, and TSS 25.0 mg/L. The test results showed that the addition of 1.3 g XYZ material increased the pH to 6.87, the total Fe content to 0.84 mg/L, Fe2+ to 0.09, and Mn to 2.98 mg/L. While the TSS content decreased from 25.0 mg/L to 17.0 mg/L. The percentage of Fe2+ removal reached 86.2%. This value was higher compared to other aeration methods. It was proven that the XYZ material was more effective because the aeration technique was no longer needed in AMD processing. This was the novelty of the research carried out. Abstrak. Air Asam Tambang (AAT) merupakan salah satu isu lingkungan yang harus dikelola dengan baik. Pengolahan AAT dengan metode aktif dilakukan dengan menambahkan bahan alkali. Tahapan pengolahannya dimulai dengan aerasi, netralisasi, sedimentasi, dan filtrasi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas bahan XYZ dalam mengurangi kadar fero dalam AAT. Ujicoba telah dilakukan terhadap percontoh AAT dengan pH 2,50, kadar Fe total 250 mg/L, Fe 2+ 0,65 mg/L, Mn 10 mg/L, dan TSS 25,0 mg/L. Hasil ujicoba menunjukkan bahwa dengan penambahan 1,3 g bahan XYZ dapat menaikkan pH menjadi 6,87, kadar Fe total menjadi 0,84 mg/L, Fe2+ menjadi 0,09, dan Mn menjadi 2,98 mg/L. sementara kandungan TSS berkurang dari 25,0 mg/L menjadi 17,0 mg/L. Prosentase removal Fe2+ mencapai 86,2%. Nilai ini lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan metode aerasi lainnya. Terbukti bahwa bahan XYZ lebih efektif karena teknik aerasi tidak diperlukan lagi dalam pengolahan AAT. Hal ini merupakan kebaruan dari kegiatan yang dilakukan.
