Abstract:Aims. We aim to study the temporal and spectral behaviour of V496 UMa from the optical to the X-ray regimes. Methods. We used archival XMM-Newton and TESS observations obtained in 2017 and 2019, respectively, to perform a spectral and timing analysis of the highly variable polar. Results. The light curves of both satellites, TESS and XMM-Newton, reveal a double-humped pattern modulated with the periodicity of 91.058467 ± 0.00001 minutes. V496 UMa displays a two-pole accretion geometry in the high accretion sta… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
