The Interconnected Network or the Internet has revolutionized digital communications. It has expanded worldwide over the past four decades due to numerous features such as connectivity, transparency, hierarchy, and openness. Several drawbacks, including mobility, scalability, controllability, security, etc., have been presented due to continuous developments. Although several network paradigms exist to address such drawbacks, many issues still persist. This research proposed a future network paradigm that addresses multilevel security shortcomings. It suggested the following: (i) a two-router network-based cyber security architecture for multilevel data sharing; (ii) using a scheduler to deal with the multilevel transmitted packets scheduling problem; (iii) five algorithms for the studied difficult problem; and (iv) providing an experimental result to show the optimal results obtained by the developed algorithms and comparing it with algorithms in the literature. The experimental result shows that the random-grouped classification with shortest scheduling algorithm (RGS) performed the best at 37.7% with a gap of 0.03. This result proves the practicality of our approach in terms of two-machine scheduling problems.

The information transfer protocol that supports the modern Internet with its hundreds of thousands of petabytes per month to billions of Internet users across the world was designed in 1981, and it lacks the capacity to properly ensure the security and stability of the Internet today. Features such as the prevention of network attacks, a large address space for the increasing number of devices, verification of the source of an Internet request, and so on are all absent from the current architecture. This paper seeks to review, summarize, and compare six proposals submitted to address the issues IP faces: the Accountable Internet Protocol, the Expressive Internet Architecture, MobilityFirst, Passport, StopIt, and the Traffic Validation Architecture. Finally, the paper details a protocol design that not only is feasible to adopt with the present infrastructure/computing power but also addresses some of the pressing issues of IP, with particular focus on the address space, mitigation of network attacks, and source verification.

Information Centric Networking that uses content name instead of IP address as routing identifier can handle challenges such as traffic explosion and user mobility, but it also suffers from scalability and incompatibility problems. In this paper by combining the concept of software defined networking and Internet end to end arguments, we propose a wide area deployable software defined information centric networking service model named SD-ICN. SD-ICN employs a dual space structure that separates edge service network and core transmission network. The enhanced SDN techniques are used in edge service network in order to implement intelligent data routing and caching, while traditional IP technique is reserved in core transmission network so as to provide wide area high speed data transmission. Besides, a distributed name resolution system based on the cooperation of different controllers is also presented. The prototype experiments in our campus network show that SD-ICN can be deployed in a scalable and incremental way with no modification of the core network, and can support typical communication modes such as multicast, mobility, multihoming, load balancing, and multipath data transmission effectively.
