I. A. Loskutov,
O. M. Andruhina
Abstract:Over the past 25 years, Xalatan (Latanaprost) has become one of the most effective first-line drugs in the treatment of glaucoma, due to its pronounced hypotensive effect, safety and convenience of a single instillation. The review article presents the historical aspects of the creation and mechanisms of action of prostaglandin analogs, the neuroprotective properties of latanoprost, as well as data from meta-analyses and clinical studies on the effectiveness of the drug in the treatment of glaucoma.
