“…Furthermore, the surface of the NPs seems to be composed of some distorted or slanted spins that repel the core spins to align the field direction. The values obtained here are in agreement with others reported in the literature [41][42][43] . The inset of Fig.…”

“…It could thus be speculated to be due to continuous evaporation and not decomposition. Nogueira et al [58] also observed a weight gain after 600 °C of NiFe 2 O 4 and explained it by formation of oxides, however, the iron is already in oxidation state 3 and cannot be further oxidized. Singh et al [59] also observed a weight gain of Ni 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 , however after about 675 °C, but they provided no explanation.…”

“…It can be seen from Fig.5 and Table.1 that the M s increases with the increasing grain size when the grain size was below micron order of magnitude, which can be attributed to the presence of large amount of surface spin canting in ferrite nanoparticles sintered at low temperatures [30]. The NFO samples in our work show much higher M s values, compared with previous works of NFO prepared by various methods [7,10,[31][32][33][34], which may be connected with the different microstructures as a result of various preparation and sintering conditions.…”
