X-Ray Absorption Measurements on Wood Constituents

A corresponding structure may be assumed. The structural principles recognized for coniferous lignin may also be applied to beech lignin. Because of the blocking of the 5-position, the dehydrated sinapic alcohol occurs in less numerous forms than does the dehydrated coniferyl alcohol. A scheme for the constitution of conifer and deciduous wood lignin is discussed.
