Wyspa jako scena teatralna: teatr społeczny od Navarra do Brancatiego

Abstract

The island as a palcoscenic: the social theater from Navarro to Brancati. In the works of Sicilian writers it is easy to notice the transformation of the island into a sort of a big stage with moving characters that become authentic actors who, in the same stage, perform the most disparate roles. The sign of the simulation thus connotes the interweaving of the stories of De Roberto, Tomasi, Consolo, and many others. Here, this theme is analysed, focusing on the most significant texts of the greatest Sicilian writers.
