Wormhole and its analogue in brane world

Abstract: In Einstein gravity, for an inhomogeneous phantom energy distribution having linear equation of state (but anisotropic), there exists simple exact solution for spherically symmetric space time describing a wormhole. At infinity, the space time is not asymptotically flat and possesses a regular cosmological Killing horizon with an infinite area. In this work, we have shown that, this wormhole solution is also possible in brane world for various matter distribution, which are not necessarily phantom in nature.Ke… Show more

“…Wormhole solutions in the context of modified gravity without accounting for extra dimensions have been investigated in [41,42,43,44,45,46,47]. In higher dimensional modified gravity approach, wormhole solutions can be found in [48,49,50,51,52,53,54]. The possibility of existence of wormholes in the central and outer region of galactic halos has been investigated in [55] and [56,57], respectively.…”

“…Inflating wormhole solutions are obtained in [24]. In the literature there are many examples of wormhole solutions where null energy condition is satisfied [25]- [28].…”

“…The gravitational field equations on the brane are recovered from the 5D warped geometry theory, which contributes to the 4D theory with an effective stress-energy tensor, in particular for a perfect fluid we can recover the conventional GR, plus corrections given in terms of P and ρ, that contain the 5D Weyl ten-sor projections, which are responsible for providing new physics phenomenology to the wormhole. In this case we have more freedom to play with the effective stressenergy tensor, so we can find an alternate route on the braneworlds to solve the problem of exotic matter, taking care do not violate the null energy condition, these new ideas have been seriously mentioned in other works [25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32]. Braneworld models allows the construction of wormholes in which the stress-energy tensor, confined to the brane, does not violate conditions of energy.…”
