“…The issues that concern LIS researchers and practitioners of non-western countries may differ from the issues of the faculty members of North America, UK and Europe. Walters and Wilder (2015) studied the contributions of particular disciplines, countries and academic departments to the LIS literature using data published in 51 journals published from 2007 to 2012. They were identified through 2 means: employed at Association of Research Libraries institutions who published more than 5 items indexed in the Social Science Citation Index in the last 10 years and the top 50 most published librarianresearchers for 2007-2012 (Walters & Wilder, 2015). This population was recruited into the study that included both a survey and CV component.…”

The authors supplemented this list with a second source of data: a list of researchers not necessarily affiliated with ARL Libraries provided by the first author of an article about worldwide contributors to the literature of library and information science (Walters & Wilder, 2015). This study identified the top librarian authors in the field (based on a harmonic weight of authors publishing in 31 LIS journals).…”

“…It also accommodates additional byline information which, for instance, may indicate the equality of some or all coauthors, or the presence of a senior author. Recent studies of field specific publication patterns have used the harmonic formula to partially eliminate EqB (Fernandes, 2014;Walters & Wilder, 2015), but future studies must also include additional byline information about equality or seniority in an effort to completely eliminate EqB.…”
