The purpose of this study was to describe the achievement of student learning outcomes using web-based interactive Student Worksheets through a scientific approach to the concept of algebraic forms and to determine student responses in the use of web-based interactive Student Worksheets. The method used in this study is a type of qualitative descriptive research. The results showed that the achievement of student learning outcomes using interactive web-based Student Worksheets with a scientific approach to the concept of algebraic forms achieved the Minimum Completeness Criteria. Student responses to the use of web-based interactive Student Worksheets showed a good response. The use of interactive webbased Student Worksheets can be very effective in improving student learning outcomes if the lesson plans, work steps and giving the types of questions on the Student Worksheets are made appropriately and systematically.

This paper discusses an experiment that was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a computer program, called ErgoNBC, which provides suggestions regarding the adjustment settings of notebook computer (NBC), workstation components, and selected accessories in order to help computer users assume an appropriate work posture during NBC work. Twenty-four university students voluntarily participated in the experiment which includes three experimental trials. In the first trial, the subjects were allowed to set up the NBC and workstation freely. In the second trial, the NBC and workstation were set up according to the recommendations from ErgoNBC. In the last trial, the subjects were given an opportunity to readjust the recommended settings. The Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) technique was used to evaluate their work postures during the three trials. The results of the paired t-test clearly showed that ErgoNBC could significantly help to improve the subjects' work postures.

Effect of Working Posture on the Productivity and Perceived Discomfort while Drilling on the Ceiling

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of drilling on the ceiling in three different postures (standing, standing on the ladder and supine on the height adjusted board) and the subjective responses of perceived discomfort after the drilling. Background: Overhead work has been identified as a major occupational risk factor and has been a main research subject. Method: Ten young participants drilled 20 holes at the pre-marked places on the ceiling in three different postures. The drilling duration, resting and drilling heart rate were measured. The levels of perceived discomfort at neck, shoulder, elbow, hand and overall body were asked at the end of each task. Results: The working posture affected the heart rate after the drilling. Perceived discomfort in the neck decreased significantly in supine compared to drilling on the ladder. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that drilling in supine can be an alternative way to reduce the drilling heart rate and the level of perceived discomfort in the neck without sacrificing the productivity. Application: The results of this study would be considered when drilling on the ceiling is required in construction workers.
