Work-to-family profiles, family structure and burnout in mothers

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify work-to-family profiles in working mothers, test whether profiles differ between sole and partnered mothers, and examine whether the work-to-family profiles are associated with burnout. “…Robinson et al () identified latent profiles of working mothers according to WFC and WFE. As a result of LPA, five profiles were identified: “harmful,” “negative active,” “active,” “beneficial,” and “fulfilled.” Robinson et al () did not consider FWC in their study, but among the five profiles, the beneficial profile and the fulfilled profile were classified as profiles with low levels of WFC, and the rest were classified as profiles with high levels of WFC. This implies there may be two or more profiles with similar levels of WFC.…”
