Word Problem Skits for the Deaf

Abstract: In elementary school mathematics, teaching word problems is one task that causes as many difficulties for teachers as for students. Poor reading skills, lack of an adequate vocabulary, and lack of mastery of skills to perform the relevant arithmetic operations are often cited as major factors in students' inadequate and inappropriate attempts at solving word problems.
