Phenomenology, a philosophical tradition, takes interest in human experiences, particularly regarding how the a priori intricacies of lived moments are rendered through conscious perception, reflection, and interpretation. This entry explores historical groundings of this tradition and threads them through present‐day health communication scholarship. To this end, phenomenology offers a robust perspective for inquiring into the embodied essence of and articulated meanings for health experiences.
