Abstract:In Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, the presence of an accessory pathway between the atrium and ventricle predisposes the patient to paroxysmal supraventricular tachyarrhythmias, which may progress to ventricular fibrillation and sudden cardiac death.
