In this paper a new bainitic 7CrMoVTiB10-10 (T24) steel has been described on the basis of our own research results and a review of relevant literature. The T24 creep-resistant steel is known to be intended for membrane walls in power-generation units operating at supercritical steam parameters. Chemical composition, thermal treatment, microstructure and mechanical properties of T24 steel were characterized. Moreover, the processes of microstructure degradation during ageing/creeping and their effects on mechanical properties have been shown. Weldability of T24 steel and the problems connected with cracking of its homogeneous joints, as well as the methods of preventing them, are given in the paper. Przedstawiono niektóre wyniki badań spawania laserowego materiałów przeznaczonych do pracy w podwyższonej temperaturze. Program badawczy obejmował stale węglowe, stopowe konstrukcyjne, stale nierdzewne martenzytyczne i austenityczne oraz nadstopy na bazie niklu. Opisano trudności związane z łączeniem tych materiałów oraz metody ich przezwyciężania. SŁOWA KLUCZOWE: spawanie laserowe, stale kotłowe, nadstopy niklu Some effects of experiments on laser welding of heat resistant materials has been presented. The research programme included welding of carbon and alloy steels, martensitic and austenitic stainless steels and nickel based superalloys. The difficulties encountered and the ways to overcome them have been described.
