Wirksamkeit von Vitamin E im Vergleich zu Diclofenac-Natrium in der Behandlung von Patienten mit chronischer Polyarthritis

Abstract: In a randomized, double blind parallel group comparison the antiphlogistic and analgetic efficacy of high-dosed vitamin E (3 x 400 mg RRR-alpha-Tocopherolacetat/d) versus diclofenac-sodium has been investigated in hospitalized patients with established chronic rheumatoid arthritis. After 3 weeks of treatment the vitamin E group (n = 42) as well as the diclofenac group (n = 43) showed a significant improvement of all assessed clinical parameters. Duration of morning stiffness could be reduced under vitamin E tr… Show more

“…[ 17 ] It is also scientifically proved to possess anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, vascular protective, and sex hormone modulator effects. [ 18 19 20 ] In vitro antioxidant activity of the aqueous extract of date fruit is demonstrated in many studies based on its phenolic compounds with potent free radical scavenging activity. [ 21 22 ] The aim of this study was to investigate the potential protective antioxidant activity of the edible portion of date fruit extract in vivo , in an experimental testicular torsion/detorsion (T/D) model in rats.…”

“…Vitamin E level was lower in the patients than in the controls in that study arguing oxygen free radicals and oxidative reactions contributed to developing osteoarthritis ( 31 ). Also, the role of vitamin E in treating chronic polyarthritis symptoms was well demonstrated in Wittenborg et al study ( 32 ).…”

“…Four RCTs [18,24,25,44,46] did not describe the implementation process of blinding, and the indicators of this study are biochemical indicators (such as MDA); they are assessed as low risk of bias. Twelve (12) RCTs [20,28,29,34,[36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43]45] claimed to use blinding but did not describe the implementation process of blinding Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity and included subjective indicators (such as DAS28 and VAS), so they were assessed as unclear risk of bias. Two RCTs [30,35] did not utilize blinding, and the indicators of this study are subjective indicators (such as VAS and DAS28); they are assessed as high risk of bias.…”
