India’s electrical power system grid also known as the power grid is serving us from a very long time. In this duration, there were no major developments or changes reported in the power grid system. Electrical power consumer demand is increasing drastically and the present grid system is not able to fulfil these emerging requirements. To fulfil the requirements of future power load, we need a modified system which has to be reliable, secure, intelligent and efficient. By converting the power grid into the smart grid will be a promising solution for adopting the above properties. Communication Infrastructure is a major part of the smart grid. The end-user can reduce their expenditure on electricity demand by using smart home appliance, to keep away from the rush hours and also make use of the renewable energy instead from utility, is a great example of deployment of internet of things (IoT) in grid communication. In this paper, we have provided a survey of different communication technology, applications, benefits and challenges in communication infrastructure, spatially IoT.

Abstract. The indoor positioning problem is not the unavailability of indoor positioning technology, but the difficulty of arriving at an acceptable compromise of technical constraints like cost, performance, ease of use, and availability of technologies. In a developing country such as the Philippines, these constraints have more weight and can restrict the advancement of indoor positioning.This study investigates the use of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) in Euclidean distance computation, which implies prospect use for indoor positioning through trilateration. It is a proof-of-concept study that BLE and WLAN, using readily-available services such as Nearby Application Programming Interface (API) and beacon simulators, can be used for indoor positioning. This method offers a better trade-off between cost, power, and accuracy.Nearby API and a regular beacon simulator application were used as beacons. The received signal strength interface (RSSI) was measured and used to calculate the Euclidean distance. From each beacon were calculated four different distances, Nearby yielding a maximum error of 26% and a minimum of 4%. The beacon simulator was less accurate and had a maximum error of 60.5% and a minimum of 4%. This shows that it is possible to calculate Euclidean distance using WLAN and BLE, and that Nearby API, which uses both, was more accurate than the beacon simulator, which used only BLE.

“…Alasan menggunakan bluetooth low energy, karena bluetooth low energy memiliki beberapa keunggulan dibandingkan dengan Bluetooth Basic Rate/Enhanced Data Rate (BR/EDR), yaitu selain konsumsi energi yang rendah, bluetooth low energy juga memiliki protokol yang lebih sederhana sehingga menghemat energi, serta waktu delay yang lebih singkat ketika transfer data (Mackensen, dkk, 2012). Penggunaan energi yang kecil membuat bluetooth low energy banyak diaplikasikan dalam sistem monitoring kesehatan, olahraga dan kebugaran, lokasi jarak dekat, dan masih banyak pengaplikasian lain dengan data yang kecil (Bensky, 2019). Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang sebuah alat pengukur ketinggian, tekanan udara, dan temperatur udara yang dikemas dalam satu sistem alat. Sensor yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah BMP280 yang merupakan sensor tekanan dan temperatur udara, Sistem alat menggunakan ESP32 sebagai mikrokontrolernya. Peneliti mengimplementasikan bluetooth low energy dalam sistem alat yang berfungsi untuk mengirim data pengukuran ke android. Dengan penerapan bluetooth low energy, hasil dari pengukuran alat dapat diakses dengan android dan disimpan dalam bentuk log data pengukuran. Hasil pengukuran alat dapat diakses dengan android melalui aplikasi nRF Connect yang terpasang pada android. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pengukuran tekanan udara, temperatur udara, dan ketinggian oleh alat dalam penelitian ini cukup sesuai dengan hasil alat pengukur ketinggian, tekanan udara, dan temperatur udara konvensional. Berdasarkan perbandingan dengan hasil pengukuran alat ukur konvensional, hasilnya cukup mendekati sesuai dengan selisih hingga 0,4 hPa pada pengukuran tekanan udara, 6 MDPL pada pengukuran ketinggian, dan satu derajat Celsius pada pengukuran temperatur udara. Kata Kunci: BMP280, ESP32, bluetooth low energy Abstract This study aims to design a measuring device for altitude, air pressure, and air temperature which is packaged in one tool system. The sensor used in this research is BMP280 which is an air pressure and temperature sensor. The tool system uses ESP32 as its microcontroller. Researchers implemented bluetooth low energy in a tool system that serves to send measurement data to android. With the application of bluetooth low energy, the results of the measurement tools can be accessed by android and stored in the form of a measurement data log. The measurement results of the tool can be accessed with android through the nRF Connect application installed on android. Based on the results of the study, the measurement of air pressure, air temperature, and altitude by the tools in this study is quite in accordance with the results of conventional altitude, air pressure, and air temperature measuring devices. Based on the comparison with the results of conventional measuring instruments, the results are quite close to the difference of up to 0.4 hPa for air pressure measurements, 6 MDPL for elevation measurements, and one degree Celsius for air temperature measurements.
