Wireless health monitoring system for vibration detection of induction motors

Abstract: To avoid unexpected equipment failures and obtain higher accuracy in diagnostic for the predictive maintenance of induction motors, on-line health monitoring system plays an important role to improve the system reliability and availability. Among different techniques of fault detection, work on motor current signature analysis by using only stator current spectra has been well documented. In addition, the recent developments in MEMS technology shows increasing trend in integrating vibration analysis for fault … Show more

“…In the literature one may found that the level of precision of MEMS-based sensors has raised significantly [37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45], which allows its use in teaching, research and industrial applications, which require a higher precision in their results. The same can be spoken about the Arduino microcontrollers present in the market, which are being used in a wide range of applications from teaching and research to industrial.…”

“…Employing such a programme allows industry operators to develop predictive maintenance actions for many installed electrical rotating machines. In some motors and generators, vibration and temperature parameters are monitored by wired sensors and the information collected is used to provide warning signals or shut down the system before any catastrophic failure occurs [7].…”
