Abstract:In this contribution, we sketch an application of Earth System Sciences and Cloud-/Big-Databased IT, which shall soon leverage European supercomputing facilities: smart viticulture, as put into practice by Terraview. TerraviewOS is a smart vineyard "operating system", allowing wine cultivators to optimise irrigation, harvesting dates and measures against plant diseases.
