Wind farm connected to a grid using fuzzy logic controller based the unified power flow controller

Abstract: <span lang="EN-GB">The doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind farm is widely used for extracting energy from the wind. When the wind farm is connected to the grid, generally it causes some perturbations. It can disturb the function of the grid and the installations connected to the grid. This impact concerns the load flow, voltage drops, and frequency fluctuations. To overcome those issues, the unified power flow controller (UPFC) is recommended. In this paper, we propose to study the impact of… Show more

“…It should be noted that in the study of dynamic stability, the linearized model of the system is used, and in order to design the controllers that dampen fluctuations based on FACTS devices, these devices must be included in the linear model of the system. Among the works in the field of linearization of FACTS devices, we can refer to [44], which deals with the linear modeling of synchronous series compensator (SSSC), static synchronous compensator (STATCOM), and UPFC in single-machine and multi-machine power systems and the modification of the Heffron-Phillips model so that all three devices have reached a similar structure with minor differences for the modified Heffron-Phillips model [1], [3], [10], [15], [17], [22], [25], [27], [31], [45]- [71]. In these articles, several methods have been used to select the feedback signal for the complementary controller.…”

“…Wind energy is considered a revolution in the field of electric power production in the modern era and the fastest developing technology around the world [1], [2]. It is able to reduce pollution to the environment, and by relying on offshore wind farms [3], we are able to reduce gas emissions and thus reduce global warming by up to (40%) [4].…”
