Wiggler x-ray beamlines at Synchrotron Radiation Research Center

Abstract: We have designed three x-ray beamlines extracted out from one 25-pole 1.8 T wiggler insertion device. This wiggler insertion device at the Synchrotron Radiation Research Center 1.3 GeV storage ring will increase the usable x-ray photons with an energy up to 15 keV. In order to satisfy the big x-ray user community at Taiwan, we need to have at least three different types of beamlines to cover various kinds of experiments. Due to limitation of radiation source and space, we have specially designed three x-ray be… Show more

“…Additional reference materials (denominated in Table 3 by superscript d) were collected at beamline 17C1 of the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Centre (NSSRC, Hsinchu-Taiwan). Details of this synchrotron facility and the beamline can be found elsewhere [30,31]. The spectra were collected with either a 13-element solid state detector (jaorsite and goethite-based samples) or a Kr gas purged Lytle detector (kaolinite and gibbsitebased samples).…”

“…Twenty (20) mL of 0.18 M Fe(NO 3 ) 3 and 20 mL of 0.27 M Na 2 SO 4 (both) adjusted to pH 1.37 were added each into 13 Teflon microwave vessels to which a small magnetic stir-bar was added. Twenty (20) mL of deionised H 2 O were added to the temperature control vessel without a magnetic stirbar. The jarosite suspensions were then irradiated at 80 • C for 180 min in the microwave.…”

“…Jarosite was prepared in the microwave following a similar procedure described by [19]. Twenty (20) mL of 0.18 M Fe(NO 3 ) 3 and 20 mL of 0.27 M Na 2 SO 4 (both) adjusted to pH 1.37 were added each into 13 Teflon microwave vessels to which a small magnetic stir-bar was added. “…The Fe K-edge spectra were collected in fluorescence mode using a Lytle detector at beam line 17C. A double-crystal Si(1 1 1) monochromator with energy resolution of about 1/7000 was used [11]. A piece of Fe foil was used for energy calibration of Fe K-edge spectra.…”
