Wideband phased array design using hairpin ring resonator (HRR) and DGS for double band-notched performance

Abstract: In this paper, a wideband Vivaldi phased array with double band-notched performance for radio astronomy is proposed. To address the issues of radio frequency interference from 5 G mobile communication (4.8–5 GHz) and C-band satellite communication (5.9–6.5 GHz) in radio astronomy system, the hairpin ring resonator (HRR), defected ground structure and λ/2 shorted-circuit stub are utilized together to realize the double notched bands with different bandwidth.
