“…No entanto, na zona medular de O. cylindrica, feixes medulares estão ausentes, sendo observado, como em várias outras espécies do gênero, células similares às traqueídes vasculares (Boke 1941(Boke ,1944Gibson 1977bGibson ,1978Arruda & Melo-de-Pinna 2010), embora em nenhum desses trabalhos tenha sido analisada sua origem ontogenética.
