This paper presents the results of the three-generational survey on children 's play in the rural area, affected by depopulation and school consolidation. Modern children's play parameters (playmates, time, space, nature play) are significantly lower, compare to their parents and grandparents' generations. We checked if the decrease in play parameters is related to the school consolidation, specifically, the factor of student transportation. We found that children commuting by car and school bus have fewer friends, and less play time compare to one's walking. However, we did not reveal a significant connection of transportation with other play parameters.
