Mining genome-wide DNA sequences enabled the discovery of near-diagnostic markers for species assignment in four European white oaks (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl., Quercus pubescens Willd., Quercus pyrenaica Willd., and Quercus robur L.) despite their low interspecific differentiation.
