“…We read with interest your contribution entitled 'Whitish cystic lesions over the scrotum and penis' and agree that these median raphe cysts are an uncommon entity that deserve highlighting: indeed, they featured twice in the journal in 2019. 1,2 You may not be aware that these cysts are often seen in association with low anorectal malformations in the newborn (Figs 1,2) and probably represent a forme fruste of an anocutaneous fistula. In Figure 2, you can even see the meconium in the more proximal (posterior) part of the fistula, and the whitish sebaceous material in the anterior scrotal part: there is a continuous track that connects them both.…”
