Lithium ion-containing Na + Super Ionic Conductor (NASICON) electrolytes are important materials for new energystorage technologies. The NASICON abbreviation represents several compounds with similar structures applied as solid electrolytes, including those conductors of lithium ions. Different methods have been used to synthesize these materials, as well as innumerous other methods used to form the electrolyte in its final shape. The synthesis methods and processing techniques significantly affect the microstructure and conductivity of the electrolyte as a result. Therefore, this paper provides an overview of the main synthesis methods and processing techniques applied for lithium ion NASICON production. First, a general view of the NASICON structure and the variety of possible compositions will be discussed. Next, the influence of the synthesis methods (e.g., solid-state reaction, sol−gel, polymeric precursor, sol−gel/ electrospinning) and sintering techniques (e.g., conventional, microwave, and Spark Plasma Sintering) will be presented. A special topic will be devoted for glass-ceramics production and evaluation, based on their advantageous ionic conductivity and potentiality for practical use on a large-scale. Moreover, the current results for electrochemical cells simulating the application of these materials in batteries will be presented. Finally, a general point of view of the authors about the future for NASICON electrolytes will be provided, presenting oncoming trends for research.

Cu1–xNixO/Fe2O3 (with x = 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 wt%) were synthesized by plant extraction technique. The absorbance and degradation performance of Ni-doped CuO and Fe2O3 nanocomposite against methylene blue (MB) was analyzed, and the 2% Ni-doped CuO yielded an optimum result, and the optical bandgap of CuO, 2NCO, Fe2O3, and (60%) 2NCO/40% Fe2O3 was found to be 1.88, 1.73, 2.1, and 1.80 eV, respectively. Hence, the 2% Ni-doped CuO (2NCO) was further used for the establishment of a composite with Fe2O3. The lowest composition of the oxide composite was (1−x) 2NCO/(x) Fe2O3 (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5). The degradation performance of those oxide composites was determined against (MB) with the nominal composition of sample (60%) 2NCO/40% Fe2O3 resulted in an optimum degradation of MB with a percentage of 94% at 120 min. The recyclability takes a look at was performed for five cycles at the start of 94%; after five cycles, the sample remained stable at 120 min. Therefore, 2NCO/40% Fe2O3 composite is going to be the selection material for waste product treatment.

This paper focuses on an optical study of a Tb 3+ /Bi 3+ -doped and Sm 3+ /La 3+ -doped Ca 2 Al 2 SiO 7 phosphor synthesized using combustion methods. Here, Ca 2 Al 2 SiO 7 :Sm 3 + showed a red emission band under visible light excitation but, when it co-doped with La 3+ ions, the emission intensity was further enhanced. Ca 2 Al 2 SiO 7 :Tb 3+ shows the characteristic green emission band under near-ultraviolet light excitation wavelengths, co-doping with Bi 3+ ions produced enhanced photoluminescence intensity with better colour tunable properties. The phosphor exhibited better phase purity and crystallinity, confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Binding energies of Ca(2p), Al(2p), Si(2p), O(1s) were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The reported phosphor may be a promising visible light excited red phosphor for light-emitting diodes and energy conversion devices.
