With the development of cloud computing, more and more video services are moving to the cloud. How to realize fine-grained access control of those data on cloud becomes an urgent problem. Attribute-based encryption provides a solution. However, heavy computation is still a bottleneck restricting the wider application of attribute-based encryption in cloud computing. In addition, we find that expression of the access control structure on media cloud can be further improved. To solve these problems, we propose an enhanced media ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption algorithm and introduce its two key components, the multiple access tree and the key chain. To increase the scalability of the proposed algorithm, we discussed the issues of multi-authorization, user revocation, and 1 − n multiple access tree. Security analysis shows that enhanced media ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption can successfully resist chosen-plaintext attacks under the decisional bilinear Diffie–Hellman assumption. Performance analysis proves both theoretically and practically that the proposed algorithm incurs less computational cost than the traditional ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption, multi-message ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption, and scalable ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption by optimizing the access control structure. Our proposed algorithm has strong practical significance in media cloud.

Attribute-based encryption received widespread attention as soon as it proposes. However, due to its specific characteristics, the attribute-based access control method is not flexible enough in actual operation. In addition, since access authorities are determined according to users' attributes, users sharing the same attributes are difficult to distinguish. Once a malicious user makes illicit gains by their decryption authorities, it is difficult to trace specific users. This paper follows the practical demand to propose a more flexible key-policy attribute-based encryption scheme with black-box traceability. The scheme has a constant number of constant parameters which can be utilized to construct attribute-related parameters flexibly, and the method of traitor tracing in broadcast encryption is introduced to achieve effective malicious user tracing. In addition, the security and feasibility can be proved by the security proofs and performance evaluation in this paper.

For a smart healthcare system, a cloud based paradigm with numerous user terminals is to support and improve more reliable, convenient, and intelligent services. Considering the resource limitation of terminals and communication overhead in cloud paradigm, we propose a hybrid IoT-Fog-Cloud framework. In this framework, we deploy a geo-distributed fog layer at the edge of networks. The fogs can provide the local storage, sufficient processing power, and appropriate network functions. For the fog-based healthcare system, data confidentiality, access control, and secure searching over ciphertext are the key issues in sensitive data. Furthermore, how to adjust the storage and computing requirements to meet the limited resource is also a great challenge for data management. To address these, we design a lightweight keyword searchable encryption scheme with fine-grained access control for our proposed healthcare related IoT-Fog-Cloud framework. Through our design, the users can achieve a fast and efficient service by delegating a majority part of the workloads and storage requirements to fogs and the cloud without extra privacy leakage. We prove our scheme satisfies the security requirements and demonstrate the excellent efficiency through experimental evaluation.
