Which Factors Promote and Inhibit the Technology Acceptance of Immersive Virtual Reality Technology in Teaching-Learning Contexts? Results of an Expert Survey

Abstract: Although immersive virtual reality (IVR) is now accessible for large-scale use due to rapid technological developments, there appear to be few organizations in the German-speaking countries that are already actively using this technology on a large scale in education and training. Therefore, little is known about the technology acceptance. Questions arise as to how the technology acceptance can be explained and which technology-specific influencing factors can be identified in the field of training. 15 persons… Show more

“…In the real estate industry, customers can have a comprehensive view of the house they are interested in and make multidimensional comparisons before making the final decision. This saves time for both buyers and agents [ 16 , 17 ]. Further, VR is now used to build a human model for doctors to have an in-depth understanding and stereoscopic view of the structural characteristics of the human body.…”

“…Industrialization and modernization have had a subversive impact on traditional culture, and the urbanization process has made the folk culture produced under the traditional farming civilization desperate. e modern education system has changed the environment and thinking mode of children's childhood growth, while the current social environment has also changed the traditional way of life and entertainment of the masses, which has greatly shaken the survival foundation of intangible cultural heritage [22]. Zhao C believes that the effective combination of augmented reality technology and the digital development and utilization of intangible cultural heritage can fully highlight and give full play to the complementary relationship between the two, promote the effective full interpretation, display dissemination of intangible cultural heritage, and finally realize the rational development, utilization, and protection of intangible cultural heritage [23].…”

“…Optical communication experimental system information data from the control device are read. The current viewpoint and communication transmission information of the experimental system virtual reality simulation are calculated. The state information and rendering instructions of the scene are judged within the current view range, and polygon data is drawn to judge the scene model elements. During the phase of destruction of the graphical characteristic data of the exhibition, a virtual reality model of the optical communication test system was made, and the diagram is shown in Figure 2 [18,19].…”
