The Cold War gave birth to two of the three most developed space programs today. As the Soviet communist ideology had to compete with the democratic USA, the USSR made incredible progress towards outer space and supported the initial growth of the first Chinese space technology. The two space programs have been intertwined since the first Sino-Soviet relations in the 1950s seeking to establish a balance of power and counter American ambitions for hegemony. The Russian and Chinese regimes have had an altering liaison from allies to opponents and consecutively partners in a struggle for power and influence within the space sector. Examining the two space programs allows the reader to comprehend the complex relations between two superpowers in a geopolitical struggle going beyond Earth’s boundaries. Using the problem-chronological and comparative method this article seeks to explore the intricate relationship between the Soviet Union/Russia and the People’s Republic of China, analysing the genesis of their relationship, differences, similarities and accomplished progress in the space sector until present day. The complex relationship formed between Russia and China in the last three decades has morphed into a close economic, military and space partnership, looking to counter current American space dominance and challenge the status quo. Space geopolitics is a relatively new field to the school of international relations and so far only a handful of political scientists have focused on activities conducted within the space environment, as crucial actions to the overall setting of the international scene. As our world continues its progress, space becomes an integral part of our daily lives, and any endeavors associated with space need to be considered, discussed and explained.

Este libro presenta a la comunidad académica y científica la necesidad de considerar como objeto de estudio e investigación los dominios aéreo y espacial, que se conjugan en el ámbito aeroespacial. En este escenario, con el empleo de su poder aéreo, espacial y ciberespacial (PAEC), el Estado colombiano debe garantizar el alcance de los objetivos e intereses nacionales a través del uso legítimo de los medios y capacidades con que cuentan la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana y, por su conducto, el poder militar colombiano. El proyecto de investigación denominado “Proyección del empleo de las capacidades estratégicas aeroespaciales de Colombia para la seguridad y defensa nacional” se realizó en el año 2020 por investigadores adscritos al Departamento Fuerza Aérea Colombiana de la Escuela Superior de Guerra “General Rafael Reyes Prieto” y miembros del grupo de investigación Masa Crítica. Estos investigadores, en el marco de la línea de investigación “Estrategia, geopolítica y seguridad hemisférica”, materializaron este interesante producto de investigación, mediante el cual se creó el escenario propicio para adelantar procesos de análisis crítico y constructivo frente a las amenazas, riesgos, retos y desafíos que afectan los dominios aéreo y espacial del Estado colombiano. La investigación se desarrolló con una rigurosa metodología de tipo cualitativo de corte analítico y propositivo, fundamentada en la recolección y análisis de información documental de fuentes primarias reconocidas académicamente y fuentes secundarias de alta trayectoria en los escenarios estratégico y aeroespacial. Su propósito ha sido generar productos académicos de alta calidad que permitan, en primer lugar, a los decisores políticos, académicos, miembros de las Fuerzas Militares y ciudadanos en general reconocer la necesidad de alcanzar las capacidades estratégicas aeroespaciales requeridas para soportar el interés nacional; y en segundo lugar, fortalecer el liderazgo de la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana frente al desarrollo aeroespacial colombiano, dado el valor que representa para la seguridad y la defensa de la Nación.

Проблемы освоения космоса исследуются не только техническими и естественными, но и социогуманитарными науками. Комплекс социогуманитарных исследований деятельности по освоению космоса формирует дисциплинарное поле астросоциологии. Автор выделил и проанализировал две концепции астросоциологии: социологическую и междисциплинарную. Социологическая концепция предполагает интеграцию астросоциологии в корпус социологических дисциплин и описание астросоциальных феноменов на языке социологической теории. Поскольку физические особенности космического пространства задают специфику деятельности по его освоению, в качестве теоретической базы для социологической концептуализации астросоциологии выбрана социология пространства. Автор определяет астросоциологию как относящуюся к социологии пространства отраслевую социологическую дисциплину, которая изучает возникающие в ходе освоения и присвоения космического пространства социальные связи, действия и коллективные представления людей. Однако в настоящее время наиболее распространена междисциплинарная концепция астросоциологии, подразумевающая, что социогуманитарные проблемы освоения космоса исследуются в комплексе дисциплин: культурологии, философии, социальной антропологии, экономики, права и т.д. В статье систематизирована дисциплинарная структура астросоциологии. На основании проведенной теоретической работы автор сформулировал проблему, объект, предмет, цель и задачи астросоциологии. Структуру астросоциологии, очерчивающую ее предметное поле, составляет комплекс направлений исследований: организационное или подготовительное, наземно-исследовательское, полетное, колонизационное, конструктивистское и трансформационное. Существующие исследования, а также перспективные темы для будущих исследований систематизированы автором в контексте данных направлений. Благодарность.
