What modelling research on supply chain collaboration informs us? Identifying key themes and future directions through a literature review

Abstract: Although research regarding supply chain collaboration has been increasing, studies reviewing supply chain collaboration remains limited. This review paper categorises supply chain collaboration and identifies different themes in this research field. Articles were collected based on a designed keywords list and specific subject restrictions in citation databases. Textmining technology and conceptual criteria were used to categorise and screen articles into different categories. Finally, cluster analysis was us… Show more

“…Through the interaction of these two perspectives, the present study findings show that the research on supplier management mainly presents the following trends: first, the research on supplier management has made breakthroughs in both breadth and depth during the research period. Representative research themes, such as, "sustainable supply chain" [24][25][26], "corporate social responsibility" [27][28][29], "knowledge management" [30][31][32], etc., have gradually penetrated into the field of supplier management. Corporate social responsibility in supplier management has received increasing attention in recent years.…”

“…Research on mathematical methods dominates the original studies on the theme of supplier selection [28], as well as the literature reviews. Literature reviews on supply chain collaboration mainly include two directions, one is the impact of supply chain collaboration on performance [29][30][31], and the other is the key themes of supply chain collaboration [32]. In addition, the application of emerging technologies such as big data, blockchain, Internet of things (IoT) in the supply chain [33][34][35][36] has become an important part of recent literature reviews in the field of supplier management.…”

“…, o n , constrains the information arrangement of shots, and the final shot sequence is regarded as a hidden sequence. Given the a transition probability matrix, output observation matrix B, and initial state matrix π, the problem of group join is transformed into the problem of solving the optimal sequence because considering the problem of nonrepetition and difference of nodes [20], the Viterbi algorithm needs to be improved to solve the problem of global constraint optimization, and the global constraint optimization is applied to solve the problem.…”

“…However, cooperation is necessary, but not a sufficient condition to achieve coordination, which is necessary, but not a requirement to achieve collaboration. Additionally, Ma et al [19] have added that, besides collaboration, there are many other concepts currently used that involve an interest in collaborative relationships, such as coordination, cooperation, alliance, and joint venture, as outlined in Figure 1. According to Spekman et al [20], cooperation is where firms exchange basic information and have some long-term relations with a limited number of critical suppliers or customers.…”
