Learning resources are crucial and strategic elements that impact the accessibility of easy, fast, accurate, and affordable information in the era of Society 5.0. Learning resources must be adaptable to technological advancements. The history laboratory is a learning resource that must be transformed and adapted to address the aforementioned needs and problems as a solution. The extensive collection of owned items has the potential to support this. This paper describes the creation of a digital laboratory by utilizing collections from the UM History Department. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method, utilizing the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study presents findings on the importance of digitizing laboratories as educational resources and digital laboratory products for the UM History Department. This digital laboratory product consists of several features, including an e-book (book catalog), an e-repository (final project catalog), an e-museum (museology collection catalog), tool lending, and graduate assessment. The results of the validation and implementation tests demonstrate that the criteria are highly valid and extremely effective. These results demonstrate that the digital laboratory serves as a more effective and efficient learning resource that is easily accessible and usable for civil society 5.0.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of using digital and other types of innovations in the management of educational institutions in the country. The methods of content analysis of documents and scientific papers, institutional, system-structural approaches, and other means of scientific and theoretical analysis were used in the study. The investigation of the main areas of improving the management of educational organisations in Kazakhstan, various management decisions and attempts to implement state programme measures endows this study with socioeconomic and applied research character. This study shows the shortcomings of the management plan on the development of school curricula for mathematics, natural sciences, and humanities using the results of representatives (schoolchildren) of educational organisations of Kazakhstan passing the international assessment and programme verification (Programme for International Student Assessment, Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies, and Trends in Mathematics and Science Study). The issues of the importance of advanced training of teachers of higher educational institutions, the reform of the entire education system, the problems of technical and technological provision of educational institutions in rural areas of the Turkestan region, digitalisation of the entire learning process were raised. The issues of material and financial security of educational activities in the region and the development of an inclusive education system were also considered. Based on the research of foreign researchers, the peculiarities of the introduction of innovations in education and the informatisation of education were considered.

Indonesia’s geographical positioning along the ‘Ring of Fire’ exposes it to frequent seismic activities, making effective disaster mitigation education crucial. Current educational strategies may not adequately foster the necessary empathy and understanding among students regarding the socio-environmental impacts of disasters. This study aims to develop and evaluate a digital learning platform designed to enhance GeoCapabilities in students, particularly focusing on the social-environmental empathy dimension. The objective is to improve students’ empathetic responses to disaster scenarios through integrated disaster mitigation pedagogy. Utilizing the design-based research method, this research involved a systematic blend of iterative development and evaluation phases to refine educational interventions. Data collection was achieved through a combination of qualitative feedback from students and quantitative pre-and post-test measures to assess empathy levels. Data analysis involved statistical testing to determine the effectiveness of the digital learning platform in enhancing empathetic capabilities among learners. The research reveals that the digital learning platform (D-Learning), significantly improves students’ empathy towards disaster impacts. Students demonstrated a deeper understanding and emotional engagement with the content, highlighting an increase in their ability to empathize with affected communities. The findings suggest that the scalability of D-Learning can be tailored to different regions, providing a valuable tool for enhancing disaster preparedness worldwide. The integration of technology and empathy-focused pedagogy in disaster education could serve as a model for developing similar educational programs globally, aiming to foster a more resilient and empathetic future generation.
